NAMI Wichita is excited to announce a new program starting next week, TechTalk Tuesdays! The 2nd Tuesday of the month, we will meet at a different Library branch and learn more about technology. Most classes will begin at a very basic level, so even if you don’t have many computer skills, you will be able to participate. Each class will be led by NAMI Wichita members and will require you to bring your own equipment- required equipment/programs are listed below.
August 9th 6:00-7:30
Powerpoint 101- Rockwell Branch
We will create a new presentation, apply basic formatting, insert images, and run a simple slide show. Must bring a laptop with Microsoft Powerpoint already installed.
September 13th 6:00-7:30
Working with Word- Evergreen Branch
We will create and edit documents, learn basic formatting, inserting images and tables, and working with columns. Must bring a laptop with Microsoft Word already installed.
October 11th 6:00-7:30
Mastering Google- Maya Angelou Branch
We will learn about Google Chrome, Google Docs, advanced search functions, Google Drive, and many tips and tricks. Must bring a laptop or tablet that is wifi capable.
November 8th 6:00-7:30
Social Media Basics- Alford Branch
This class will introduce you to social media etiquette, privacy settings, and avoiding scams. We will look at Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, and others. Must bring a laptop, smartphone, &/or tablet with wifi/data capability. You will not be required to join any of the sites.
December 13th 6:00-7:30
Flyer Fun- Westlink Branch
We will create professional and attractive flyers and brochures using solid design principles. Must bring a laptop with Microsoft Powerpoint already installed.
